Tour
The Gate City grew from a county seat and college town to the
second largest city in the state during the twentieth century, and our
downtown has some of the best examples of architecture of the period to show
for it! Unusual highlights of the tour include early skyscrapers, Mid-Century
Modern, and Brutalist buildings that stand among the best examples in the
state.
