Five vintage homes in the
historic Hamilton Lakes neighborhood will open their doors to the public during
PGI’s Fifth Annual Tour of Historic Homes & Gardens: Saturday, May 16,
11am-5pm and Sunday, May 17 from 1pm-5pm. The walking tour highlights
stunning features of early twentieth century Neoclassical, and Colonial Revival
architecture as well as unusual designs such as a Mediterranean-inspired home
and Mid-Century Modern homes. Participants will gain insights into local
history along with artistic home design ideas. Shuttle service will be
available between homes.
Homes included in the Tour are:
House #1: 1207 Lakewood Drive
House #2: 3907 Henderson Road
House #4: 505 Kemp Road West
House #5: 104 Kemp Road West
The McMichael Home will host
our Patrons Gala, the kickoff to our 2015 Tour of Historic Homes, on
Thursday, May 14 from 6pm to 8pm. This house, located at 102 Kemp Road West,
will not
be on the weekend Tour, but as a Tour Patron, you will enjoy
access! Patron's Tickets are $75 each and include admission to the Gala in
addition to one tour ticket for the weekend. This special event will have
live jazz music, hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer and a Silent Auction benefiting Preservation
Greensboro. Tickets and reservations must be made by Monday, May 11th!

Tickets for the tour are available through the close of business May 15
for $20 each and may be purchased at the Extra Ingredient in Friendly Shopping

(minimum of 10 people) are $15 each and may be purchased at Blandwood or by

Day-of-Tour Tickets will
be available for all at $25 at each tour home by cash or check, and at House #1
(1207 Lakewood Drive) with cash, checks, or a credit card
(Visa/Mastercard/Discover).
“Will Call” paid tickets are
available for pick-up at Blandwood, 447 West Washington Street, downtown
Greensboro, during regular office hours 9am-5pm Monday-Friday. At the end
of business on Friday, May 15th, “Will Call” tickets will not be
available until Saturday, May 16th morning at 10am at House #1, 1207
Lakewood Drive.
