From Flannel to Furniture: Explore Two Fascinating Restored Historic Factories!

Event One: A Happy Hour Sneak Peak of the Apartments at historic Revolution Mill

Few projects capture the imagination as does the Revolution Mill, over 750,000 square feet of historic flannel mill, once thought to be the largest such processing plant in the world. Though textile operations ceased long ago, the complex is being renovated as a mixed-use project that will include offices, art studios, restaurants - and now apartments! Enjoy Happy Hour with us on Monday, October 13th 5-7pm to preview the new model apartments at Revolution Mill! These units will highlight the exposed brick walls and large open windows that we love to see with adaptive reuse projects.

Event Two: Furniture Market Open House and Silent Auction at historic Market Square

Explore the crafts and home accessories as a guest of the Antique and Design Center and Preservation Greensboro on Tuesday, October 21st 3-7pm at Market Square! This opportunity will provide a chance to enjoy furniture market, purchase items, and bid of a silent auction to raise funds for historic sites through Preservation Greensboro. Market Square was one of the first adaptive reuse projects in North Carolina, and one of the first major projects to emphasize the handmade brick walls and heavy timber frame construction that remains popular. It was created around 1980 from the Tomlinson Furniture factory, and today houses home furnishings and accessories from the region and the world.
