Dear Historic Tax Credit Partner,
The Historic Preservation Tax Credit legislation that overwhelmingly passed in the House has been included in the House Budget to be voted on by the full House and then go to the Senate for discussion.
Thank you for all or your hard work in contacting Legislators and asking for their support of this compromise legislation.
Our job is not quite done and I still need your continued action.
Please contact as many Legislators as possible - both House and Senate - to ask them to support Historic Preservation Tax Credits inclusion in the final budget. Contact information can be found at www.ncleg.net.
As of Friday, I've made 67 stops on the Historic Tax Credit tour in 46 communities across the state. The tour is not done and will go forward into June as we continue to highlight historic tax credits and the economic development and jobs they bring to small towns and large cities.
Thank you for all of your hard work to get us to this point, but now your efforts continue to be critical.
The more I see on the tour, the more I realize how critical historic tax credits are needed in helping to revitalize downtowns, especially in smaller communities.
Please contact Legislators TODAY to ask for support the compromise Historic Preservation Tax Credit.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Many thanks,
Susan Kluttz
Secretary, N.C. Department of Cultural Resources
